Mother's Day Wish

in Health and Beauty

I am going to make this blog personal...

As a mom, I am thankful for Mother's Day, but isn't every day Mother's day? I am so blessed to have 2 beautiful and healthy children, that I do not need a day to remind me of such. I do not need need flowers that will die or chocolate that will leave me feeling guilty.

What I really need is a bathroom break all to myself, a shower with the door locked and kids not screaming to get in and a glass of wine (just this once, I will super size).

Happy Mother's Day!

Let's Talk About Fat

in Health and Beauty

Of course, I have to start by asking a few questions. Eveyone knows that too much of anything is not actually a good thing. But do you know how much is too much?

Let's take fat for example. Do you know what a daily limit is for saturated fat (that's the bad stuff), cholesterol or sodium? Are you aware of how much saturated fat was in your Valentine's Day dinner?

Answers to follow, but first tell me what you ate for dinner.

Friday, February 3rd is National Wear Red Day

in Health and Beauty

Will you be wearing red on Friday?

Americans will wear red to show their support for women's heart health. This observance promotes the Red Dress symbol and provides an opportunity for everyone to unite in The Heart Truth's life-saving awareness-to-action movement by putting on a favorite red dress, red shirt, red tie, or Red Dress Pin. Together, we will continue to urge women to protect their hearts, as heart disease is the #1 killer of women.

In Need of a Good Spanxing?

in Health and Beauty

The story of the birth of Spanx® is so well-known amongst us girls that it can practically be recited over Cosmos: (In 1998) Spanx founder Sara Blakely was getting ready for a party when she realized she didn't have the right undergarment to provide a seamless look under her white pants and open-toed shoes. Armed with scissors, she had the bright idea to cut the feet off her control top pantyhose. Read more »
